Delicate, fresh aromas of roses, redcurrants and strawberries. Made from a 50/50 blend of Tempranillo and Merlot grown on dry, high-altitude soils in Mendoza, Argentina. A region hardly known for its rosés, but that is something Iduna Weinert, who took over the family winery from her father a few years ago, is determined to change.
"When I took over, we made almost exclusively red wine. But everyone wants more and more rosé and white wine. So that was something I wanted to change," says Iduna Weinert.
She has now released her first rosé on to the Norwegian market. It is called Carrascal, named after a place in Mendoza. It was her father Bernardo Weinert who first used the name, when he founded Weinert in 1977. The first vintage of Carrascal was a red wine made from purchased grapes in 1975. Now, 50 years later, his daughter's rosé from 2025 is on the marked.
At a refreshing 12.8 per cent alcohol, with fresh acidity and juicy fruit, it is perfect for summer parties, buffets and light summer meals.
