The wine comes from the western side of Sicily. The area was planted with vines over 3,000 years ago by the Greeks and Phoenicians. They likely chose this location because of the pure chalk soil. A soil that is perfect for growing grapes, and not least for making sparkling wine.

A sparkling wine made from the red grape nerello mascalese, however, is not so common. This is the grape that is mostly behind the red wines from Etna, and very occasionally a sparkling wine.

The wine from Sorso is made from organically grown grapes and has only 11 percent alcohol. Produced using the Charmat method, it is an incredibly good buy when comparing price and quality.

Perfect for all the summer parties to come.
