It's such a treat to kick off my new site. A bit like opening a bottle of wine you've been saving for ages. The idea is simple. I've worked with wine for more than two decades, and along the way I've mostly had to choose just a handful of things to publish. Now I can tell you everything instead.
Cases isn't a news site, and it isn't a blog either. It's a place where I gather everything I do — the tastings, the travels, the conversations with producers, the restaurants I love and always end up going back to. A place where everything I'm working on lives in one spot, ready for you to find when you need it. I taste thousands of wines a year, and here you can stay on top of which ones are worth buying — preferably before they sell out.
So you'll find tasting notes on wines you can actually get hold of. And probably a few you can't. You'll read about producers you've never heard of, and hopefully some you have. You'll get food and wine pairings — not as rules, but as suggestions from someone who's tried them. You'll get restaurant tips from places I keep going back to.
Cases has just launched, and will grow week by week. We've got a few projects in the pipeline that I'm looking forward to sharing, but those will have to wait a little. First, I just want to say thank you.
